Academic year 2026–2027 · Fall 2026
Integrated Math 1
Syllabus & course overview
Integrated Math 1 is a lesson-contained mastery course. Students build essential algebra, functions, systems, growth, and coordinate-geometry skills by solving, checking, correcting, and explaining mathematics on paper.
All learning and practice required for passing occur in class. ALEKS presents problems and stores records; the teacher controls instruction, sequence, and assessment.

Planned assessment dates
The semester’s five Essential Learning Outcomes (ELOs) are listed below. These are planned assessment dates; the dated classroom materials are in Classroom work.
| Essential Learning Outcome | First attempt | Full Retake |
|---|---|---|
| C2Linear Patterns and Relationships in Data | October 6 | October 15 |
| C1Equations and Inequalities | October 20 | October 29 |
| C3Two Conditions at the Same Time | November 5 | November 13 |
| C4Patterns, Growth, and Decay | November 19 | December 3 |
| C5GGeometry on a Coordinate Grid | December 15 | December 17 |
All dates are in 2026 and are approximate. Dates may change because of closures, schedule changes, attendance conditions, or required access needs. Families receive notice of a material change. There is no separate cumulative final exam.
Course essentials
Learning happens in class
Required homework is not assigned. Pencils and letter-size engineering paper are provided. No physical textbook is required.
Show your reasoning
The screen presents the problem. The paper preserves the thinking. Students solve, check, correct, and explain their mathematics.
Demonstrate mastery
Mastering all five ELOs earns at least a C and eligibility to advance to Integrated Math 2. Learning Evidence can raise the grade to B or A; it cannot replace an unmastered ELO. ELO Mastery is 70% of the grade; Learning Evidence is 30%. Each ELO requires at least 70% on its ALEKS ELO Test and verified ELO Paper Evidence on the same attempt.
Relearn and try again
One Full Retake per ELO after nonmastery follows 30 minutes of teacher-directed relearning during IM1 class. A retake is not offered solely to raise an already-mastered ELO score.
See the syllabus for the complete grading, mastery, attendance, and classroom policies.
