Start with the front of the student paper. The opening connects the last three lessons to today. Each × on a scatter plot is one pair of numbers, written (x, y). The first number tells how far to move across; the second tells how far to move up.
Ask two questions: “Which direction does the whole pattern go?” and “How closely do the points follow one straight line?” Then read exactly what the question asks. The number r describes this direction and strength; it is not the slope m or the y-intercept b.
Read and discuss front Steps 1–3. No notes or calculations are required in those steps. Begin writing in Step 4. In practice, write the figure number and a reason before choosing a figure on the screen.
Use Back, Next, or the lesson menu. Play slowly begins an animation; Pause holds it. The lesson never advances on its own. “No animation” provides a static view. If some screen choices are blank, the studio asks whether to return or intentionally continue; it cannot check handwriting.
On the back, complete Practice A. Then choose ONE independent problem: ALEKS or Studio B. Circle that source and use one row for each of its three questions. Copy the key requirement under “Look for,” write the figure number, and explain the choice under “Why does this figure fit?” Finish with “One last check.”
Parents may use Show explanation to talk through a mistake. Screen choices stay only while this page remains open. Your written paper is the lasting record.
Printing: print only Student paper: one Letter landscape sheet per student, double-sided, short-edge flip, 100% size.
